A book full of half-baked thoughts, cherry picked information, and the general tone of the uneducated pretending to be far more intelligent than they actually are.

This book claims to be about toxic, hateful nerds but the only one of those I see is it's author.

I came across this book and purchased it out of pure curiosity. I am currently majoring in Psychology at UPenn and occasionally play video games in what little spare time I have. I figured heck why not, it's cheap and already has good reviews. It was an eye opener for sure. I never really gave a good thought as to why people behave the way they do in multiplayer gaming. Thank you Mr. Hinkley.

About the Author
Reginald Owen Morris was a British composer and teacher. He was born in York and was educated at Harrow School, New College, Oxford and the Royal College of Music in London, where he subsequently became professor of counterpoint and composition. Morris was considered a brilliant teacher of counterpoint, and wrote a number of influential texts on the subject. Students of Morris included composers Gerald Finzi, Sir Michael Tippett, Constant Lambert, Robin Milford, Anthony Milner, Edmund Rubbra, Bernard Stevens and Jean Coulthard.

This is a terrible text.

Terrible musical excerpts. There is such a large body of early music that could have been authentically used for these examples. It is much more effective and accurate if you "don't listen to what you are playing." The voice leading is at times not intuitive, and the explanations heading each section are lacking in clarity and depth. This publication is a miss for me, and my entire class.

If you know Volume 1 and you learned a lot from it or found it to be a valuable way to learn keyboard harmony- then you will enjoy this. Does not introduce as Mach new material as No. 1 but along the lines of of harmony found in a Bach chorale.

The ancient Egyptians weren't the only ones to have been inspired by
the stars in constructing their built environments. Arizona
researcher Gary David argues in this "sky-breaking" book that the
Pueblo Indian ancestors of the Hopi constructed their villages in a
pattern that mirrored all the major stars in the Orion constellation.
David is careful to point out that what the Hopi regard as a true
depiction of their past (influenced also by the Navajo who migrated
there around AD 1500-1600) is generally at odds with what white
anthropologists have surmised. Having analysed geodetic alignments
of Pueblo ruins, photographed rock art, noted cultural motifs and
utilised an astronomical computer program to determine ancient star
positions, David has come up with his take on the fundamental
principles and purposes of the Orion constellation as manifested in
the American Southwest.
The global Orion legacy, David maintains, includes links with not
just the ancient Egyptians but the Meso-Americans and the peoples of
the South Pacific, as evidenced by the vector of a planetary chakra
line. He even suggests that the Hopi, or at least their ancestors,
were once a seafaring people who had escaped a world destroyed by flood.
The prophetic proclamations of the Hopi, as have come to public
prominence in recent years, are also disturbing for their warnings

Amazing and thorough research

This book was far more intriguing than I anticipated when I purchased it. On each page I found information that was well-researched and surprising. The author draws together facts from several different areas and consolidates them into an interesting and logical whole. It's apparent that he put a lot of thought, research, and dedication into this work. He's respectful of cultures, while still presenting a big-picture view of some of the great mysteries of Arizona. I'll be reading his other books as well.

Thorough, scholarly, fascinating and essential

I really got a lot out of reading this book. It is a scholarly book, but is accessible to the general reader. Kamen takes pains to put the Spanish Inquisition within its context of historical, political, and practical spheres. Dare I use the word "balanced" to describe this portrayal of the much-maligned institution? In another field, Kamen may be considered nearly an apologist, but careful reading of the text reveals the author not so concerned with defending the Inquisition as with avoiding the calumny that has plagued other portrayals.

I read this book to prepare for and as an accompaniment to a trip to Spain, and it most definitely enriched my experience of that country. I am glad Kamen took the time and care in writing such a thorough depiction of the Spanish Inquisition. Not a short or easy book, but highly recommended to those who want more than the grotesque voyeurism of most Inquisition media.

Medicine for anti-Catholics

I read this book. It uses actual data from the archives. Kamen is not Catholic and so has no reason to be biased in favor of the Church. He simply destroys the usual falsehoods about Catholicism and the inquisition. Do you think millions were executed? Well Kamen proves that is a lie. This is real scholarship by someone who knows his stuff.

Duchossoir is a freelance writer who has been active in the field of guitar history since mid 70s.

James Burton is an American guitarist. A member of the rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 2001. Burton has been recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. If you want to know anything about the Senior Electric Fender Guitar, this is it. It is the best and most complete book about the Tele. It talks about:
Pickups, History of the Tele, Wiring, How to tell the age, it has some Great Pictures and much. much more.
A must have for any Tele owner.

This book sticks to its subject and explores it well

I bought this book after buying a Fender Telecaster guitar. The book is very informative as to the history of the guitar, from its origins in the early 50's through its various subtle changes over the years and up to the present time.
The book is both detailed and concise. It contains much info on the guitar, but not "more than you'd ever want to know." It is well-photographed, well written, and generally was everything I had hoped it would be when I ordered it.
